The NextMile Difference

A lot of driving schools will get you through the requirements. We're here to actually prepare you for the road.

One instructor. Every lesson.

Mark — the owner — personally teaches every lesson. No subcontractors, no rotating staff. You work with the same person from your first period to your road-skills test, so instruction builds on itself instead of starting over each time.

Instruction that adapts to you.

Every student arrives with a different experience level, different anxieties, and different goals. We don't use a one-size-fits-all curriculum. Lessons are structured around where you are today and where you need to be.

Flexible scheduling, 7 days a week.

We work around your calendar — not the other way around. Lessons are available 7 days a week by appointment. School schedules, work schedules, weekend availability: we'll find times that work.

We provide the car for your road test.

When you're ready for the DMV road-skills exam, you can take it in our dual-control training vehicle at no extra charge — one less thing for your family to arrange.

Virginia DMV-licensed, certificate-issuing.

NextMile is a licensed third-party driver-training provider. We issue the official certificates (DEC-1, re-examination, and others) that the DMV accepts — no extra steps, no delays.

We go the extra mile — literally.

Beyond the state-required courses, we offer Car Systems 101 and Car Maintenance 101: practical courses on how your vehicle actually works and how to keep it running. Not required by anyone. Just the kind of thing a good instructor offers.
